So Have You Set A Date?

August 11, 2010

Once we officially announced our engagement, the questions of when and where the wedding would take place came thick and fast.

Unlike a lot of ladies, I hadn’t given much thought to my wedding with regards to venue, themes, flowers etc so all of these questions took me by surprise but my response that we hadn’t even thought about it yet took most others by surprise! I find that once people announce their engagement now, it is almost expected to have a plan of action in place including a date and venue. We most certainly hadn’t thought that far ahead, all we both knew without even discussing it, was that our wedding would take place in the Summer as H2b is an avid rugby player so an off-season wedding was a given! This was mainly due to the fact that I didn’t want my groom to be standing next to me with a black eye or worse still if last season was anything to go by, supported only by a set of crutches but also so that the day could be equally enjoyed by all of our guests without worrying about a match bright and early the following morning!

We wanted to enjoy our engagement for a while before setting a date and launching head on into wedding plans, after all, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together so what was the rush?
